They should have dismissed the hype for what it was - a ruse. Even if they disagreed with the few who hoisted Nishan Sahib, that was not the real question being asked! When the media portrayed it, they were trying to force a division - in their short-sightedness, the kisan leaders conceded that division. Perhaps there are deeper political reasons for those division, in the political history of Punjab, but that's a different topic for a different day. The movement is more tenacious than the leaders, as has been seen this week.
